Dreaming of Copacabana beach! Traveler's guide to Rio de Janeiro !

The Pousada Kybalion hotel Buzios is a small bed and breakfast style of accommodation that sits at the entrance of the renowned Praia de Tartaruga (or Turtle Beach in English) in Buzios, Brazil. The Pousada Kybalion is small in that it is only eight rooms but if you are looking for simple and cheap lodging that is easy to get to then here it is.

Praia de Tartaruga or Turtle Beach is a one of the beaches in Buzios that does its part to protect wildlife. Even the fact that humans hang out on the beach protects wildlife too. Like the other beaches in Buzios, it too has crystal clear water. It is a secluded area that is surrounded by cliffs and has calm gentle waves to make swimming an easy experience.

It is called the Turtle Beach because for many centuries the same family of turtles has returned to it to lay their nest eggs. And the human presence at the beach wards off any predators coming to eat those eggs. So it is a place where man is in harmony with nature. And by law, this beach in Buzios is dark after sunset and no light is allowed. By doing this, the turtles can lay their eggs undisturbed by civilization.

The Turtle Beach is really two beaches with one being a small, shallow, beach where the boats of the local fishermen are tied down. The other beach is where the food is. And most of the food on the beach is seafood such as the famous oyster plates. What makes the oyster plates even better is the price-about $7.00 U.S. Try to imagine what a plate of oysters with some lemon and salt would taste like right now. And if you want something besides seafood, there are also places to get the famous "churrascos" or Brazilian barbeque.

And the Pousada Kybalion is right at the gateway to this beautiful beach. The resort itself is made of wood in architecture obviously Brazilian. And even though it is small, it is not short on amenities. The rooms have air conditioning, backpacking facilities, mini-bar, cable and satellite television, and refrigerators to name a few.

The rates range from $45 to $130 U.S. and like most of the accommodations in Buzios, you'll find the lowest rates during the rainy months of April through September. The highest rates will be during the peak tourist season from December through March when there is lots of sun and not too much rain not to mention Christmas, New Year, and carnival.

Buzios Brazil hotels reviews and guest ratings were hard to find or non-existent for the Pousada Kybalion Hotel which could be due to the small size of the lodging. It just has a reputation of being easy to get to.
