One of the best Buzios camping sites is near Ferradura Beach, which is a beautiful horseshoe shaped beach, with clear calm water. If you don't feel like slaving over a hot campsite fire, there are a lot of really nice pubs and small restaurants in the area, offering traditional Brazilian food and drinks. They range from quite pricy to very affordable, and depending on your budget, your choice is pretty varied. Enjoy the beautiful coastline while sitting looking over the ocean - what more could you want? It is pretty close to downtown Ferradura so it's a good spot to start your holiday.
You need to be pretty hardy, however, when camping in Buzios. The facilities are good, but certainly not "luxury camping" by any means! Find a good sheltered spot, preferably with some large trees for shade as it can get pretty hot during the day, lay claim to it, and pitch your tent! As long as you have all you need as a camper, you'll be just fine. You obviously need good sleeping bags and pillows, and preferably a tent with "windows" to allow the breeze to ventilate the tent. You need netting over the windows to prevent mosquitoes and bugs taking over, and a candle to chase off the mosquitoes, particularly at night, is also a good idea. The bathrooms are clean - but be aware there may be no hot water in the showers. Once you get used to a cold shower, it's amazingly refreshing!. There is also a small supply store nearby the campsite, which offers a basic but perfectly good selection of groceries you may need while camping. As far as the cost of camping in Buzios is concerned - at a very affordable rate of about $20 per night, you can't go wrong!
